Assertiveness

This one-day course aims to help you understand the concept and benefits of behaving assertively and develop a range of assertive techniques. You can improve the way you interact with others by behaving in a more confident and positive manner.

Enjoy group discussions and practical exercises in a friendly environment.

This programme can be run on your premises or at a shared venue for a group of authorities.

The Assertiveness course can be tailored to your needs but would normally cover:

  • identifying different types of behaviour and their effects
  • positive and negative self-talk, and building self-esteem
  • developing effective communication skills
  • making and refusing requests
  • using a range of assertive techniques
  • dealing effectively with conflict and aggression
  • handling criticism and complaints.
