Managing Appeals

This half-day course looks at the framework for appeal hearings, the reason we have appeal hearings, and the roles and responsibilities of those hearing appeals against discipline and grievance decisions. While the focus is on discipline and grievance cases, the principles set out in this course apply equally to capability and ill health cases.

Target audience

This course is designed for elected members or senior managers who will be sitting on employment appeal panels.

  • understanding of the process of the appeal hearing panel
