Managing Hearings and Appeals

This one-day course looks at the framework for running hearings and appeals, the reason we have hearings and appeals, and the roles and responsibilities of those hearing a management case. While the focus is on discipline and grievance cases, the principles set out in this course apply equally to bullying & harassment, capability and ill health cases.

Target audience

This course is designed for managers and HR professionals who will be involved in hearing panels, and also for elected members or senior managers who may be sitting on appeal panels.  An understanding of the context of hearings in management cases would help delegates get the most from this session. This can be gained by attending our Discipline, Grievances and Dismissals course and/or Capability - Health and Performance course.
