People Management - Law and Practice

The size and composition of a workforce varies. Ages, genders, disabilities, different employment status, a variety of employment contracts and much much more. The rights and issues that attach to all these elements differ so it is not surprising that managing a workforce can be complicated and challenging.

Most of all, line managers and HR are expected to handle every issue effectively and in compliance with employment law.

This practical one-day course will take you through the basic elements and core principles of employment law. You will learn how to tackle those common HR and employment issues with a practical approach in a confident manner.

Target audience

This course is suitable for those new into HR or who have an element of HR in their role, HR administrators or junior officers, line managers, Parish and Town Council Councillors and Clerks. This course is for those with little or no knowledge of employment law, but would also provide a useful reminder of the issues for those whose knowledge has become a little rusty!
